This is my second TTC program as the first I did was many years ago and I felt lost in a room of students. When I found Markham Yoga, I was immediately drawn to the space, the teachers, the warmth and personality of the owner, Sophia. She guided me through the process and teachings and having a background already in yoga, I was amazed at how much I didn't know! I have since left my full time work to pursue my love for teaching yoga and spending time with my family while I continue learning Reiki and teaching. The teachers at Markham Yoga are so knowledgeable and I highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to learn the true meaning of YOGA.

I am so grateful for all that I learned at Markham Yoga. The teachers are amazing, hands down the best training centre for yoga. NO gimmicks or anything. Just straight up, real yoga!
Graduate of MYW Yoga Training, K.K - Spring 2018
This is one the best experiences of my life! I wanted to learn a pure form of yoga in Rishikesh, but something always came up and wasn't able to travel to India. Markham Yoga truly brought India to me! With caring and kind teachers, so knowledgeable,! Master Jeya is outstanding and I learned so much more than I expected in a 200 hour training! Very pleased. So happy and humbled to learn from this school.

If you are thinking about taking a Yoga Training program, I suggest Markham Yoga. No doubt one of the best and affordable yoga centres out there. I was totally impressed the thoughtfulness of all the teachers and how giving they are. Especially, Sophia who was always there to answer my millions of questions and to learn basic things that I didn't know about yoga from here was really eye opening to how much we really don't know about yoga. They were all so giving of their time. Shaili is so sweet and beautiful and always arrived with a smile! From the first day I felt a sense of community and warmth. We developed friendships with each other that I cherish. The class sized are maxed at 10 which makes is so comfortable to learn and teach. I was so nervous but they teachers made it very easy to learn and always left inspired! I can't express how wonderful my experience has been and humbled by all the support and love I received during my training and beyond. Thank You Markham Yoga and Sophia for always sharing your time and helping me through it all! I love you guys!
Graduate of MYW Yoga Training, J.W - Winter 2017
Markham Yoga offers such a unique and magical experience! The atmosphere is spiritual and calming especially for someone so new! The teacher (master) is incredible. The community is so sweet welcoming I felt comfortable the minute I walked in! A great first time yoga class since I moved here. Highly recommend classes here if you want real yoga and they offer massage and beginners classes! No wonder the classes were packed! Definitely found my sanctuary.
Graduate of MYW Yoga Training, J.L - Winter 2016
I am so grateful to have crossed paths with such inspirational yogis! The instructors were very knowledgeable and truly there to support their students as future yogis and/or yoga teachers. I highly recommend Markham Yoga's teacher training to anyone who is interested in deepening their own practice or wanting to build their foundation of yoga from traditional and authentic teachings.

As usual, there are tears in my eyes as I sit here thinking of the three of you and my yoga journey.
Sophia, when I came to your studio for a class and found out that you sold the business and were leaving, I was disappointed to see you go. I missed yoga classes and this was my first one back after 2 years (after my accident) You were the teacher and I wasn’t sure what to expect being back with this new teacher I may never see again. During that 75 minute hatha , your gentle strength guided me through the asanas and removed all fears of not being able to practise yoga again. I remember thinking if I can get through 15 minutes of this, I will be ok. You supported me with this energy I can’t describe that was a brace reminding me how strong I am mentally and physical is just a small part of this session. I remember coming home that night and with a big smile on my face telling my husband “I Love Yoga”!! I also told him that you made me feel as if I could continue practicing yoga and even make my dream of teaching one day a reality. Your quite strength that night somehow inspired me to have yoga become a part of my life. And so it happened. A shift in my mind, with your quite force of inspiration led me to become a yoga instructor less than a year later. I appreciate your kindness, generosity and courage you provided to me. I am forever grateful for that one rainy night of 75 minutes of hatha.
Stef, I signed up for this course and before starting i had reservations about whether I could follow through with it. With the rest of my schedule i couldn’t see how i would fit in three nights of yoga every week. Then I saw you online and I couldn’t wait for the next night. Your knowledge of yoga philosophy was easily evident as was your passion for teaching and for people. Your energy is contagious. I found myself telling everyone of this amazing teacher who was like sunshine, making every lecture interesting and creating a beautiful connection with all of us online.
Jeya, the word Guru had no real meaning to me until i met you. From the first asana you taught us i knew this teacher training course was going to be special. Like Stef you taught us with passion and fun. You seemed to say just the right words of support and encouragement at just the right time. The wealth of information you shared with us is immeasurable.
I waited a long time for the three of you, and with tears of joy, respect and reverence I can say that it was worth the wait.
Thank you for the beautiful souls that you are.

I have good envy for all of you right now. I say this because I remember my training and am filled with joy. Your training will be what you make of it - but I am certain this journey will have a big impact on your life.
I left Tanzania on my own 7 months pregnant to begin my training at with Markham Yoga & Wellness. Just as I graduated my father-in-law took critically ill and passed away in my 9th month of pregnancy. My training helped me physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually during this trying time. When he passed it helped me through the loss, and when the time came it helped me to allow myself to experience the euphoria of the birth and coming of my daughter. Her birth was short, joyous and pain-free.
I initially wanted to train in order to have the certification to own a studio, start my business and teach yoga. Now those milestones are just stepping stones in the greater picture - if they happen, so be it. I am a better mother and wife, but most of all, I am a better ‘me’. Let this journey be about stilling your turbulence, not only for the interim, but about the continuous joy we yogis have in sanding our rough edges to smooth our soul. Immerse yourself fully into this training, and try to cleanse your senses in whatever practice works for you during your training and beyond. For me, being a muslim, I committed to being more diligent in my prayers because that is what I found was cleansing, and the physical movements were almost identical to certain yoga postures. That worked for me. Try to find what works for you. Don’t be hard on yourself.
