For over a decade, our Yoga School welcomed students like you into a community where yoga goes beyond the poses. Rooted in classical Indian teachings, we bring together asana, breath, philosophy, yoga therapies, and meditation with our expert teachers, we stand above yoga studios, we are a yoga school. We believe great teachers understand the why behind what they teach — moving with purpose, cueing with intention and sharing knowledge with authenticity. Study multiple discipline of asanas, from Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin, alongside meditation, pranayama, philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology and the therapeutic applications of yoga.
Learn from teachers with years of practice, teaching experience and lived knowledge. Understand sequencing, alignment, cueing, modifications and how to adapt yoga for different bodies and needs including considerations such as arthritis, asthma and diabetes.
You graduate with a deeper understanding of yoga and the ability to teach it with purpose, intelligence and care.

WE PREPARE YOU FOR REAL TEACHING
We support our graduates with placement and teaching opportunities through our partnering studios and gyms across the GTA. This is what matters most as new teachers. With 5 hours of hands-on teaching in our Karma Series, 4 hours of business development and 1:1 mentorship, guidance and feedback from experienced teachers. you get practical experience teaching tools for building your career, including marketing, resume development, insurance and professional development. You leave with a certification—but also with knowledge, teaching experience, mentorship, professional tools and a pathway into the profession. And your relationship with Markham Yoga doesn’t end at graduation. |
