We wanted to take the time to debunk some yoga myths we often hear, because we truly believe that yoga is all about being accessible and that it is truly for everybody and every body. Myth 1 - You need to be flexible to do yoga. - WRONG! You do NOT need to be flexible to do yoga! In fact the more you do yoga, you will naturally find that poses that were originally such a challenge for you are now easier and you can reach them with more ease. Yoga can help make you comfortable but you absolutely don't need to be flexible to do yoga at all.
Myth 2 - You need to consistently do fancy poses you see on social media. -WRONG While yoga poses can be beautiful when photographed, sometimes simplest is best. You don't need to do "instagram friendly" poses, but keeping things simple with safe and proper alignment, you will FEEL the effects within your body and we think that's so much better than fancy poses that look good on instagram but make you feel strange! Myth 3 - Yoga can only be done within a certain age group. - WRONG! Yoga is truly for everybody and every body. There are so many different styles of yoga out there that can help you get into poses with ease - whether or not you hit a certain age group. Chair yoga can be helpful for seniors, office workers and those that just want to incorporate a chair into their practice! All poses have options and we believe that yoga is truly accessible for everyone! As you can see with these 3 myths that we've debunked that ultimately, yoga is for everyone. We don't believe in yoga being only for a certain age group or body type. The benefits of yoga truly are for everyone, so why not try it out!
